Maintenance and Installation of Pumps
Duration
2 days
Aimed at
Maintenance Operators; Maintenance Artisans and Technicians; Maintenance Personnel working with pumps
Overview
Ensuring that pump sets operate successfully for long periods of time requires careful pump design selection, correct installation and operation, the ability to observe changes in performance over time using condition monitoring, and in having the capacity to develop and implement a cost effective preventive and predictive maintenance programme. All too often the understanding of how to achieve success in the maintenance and installation of pump sets is lacking.
This course will show artisans and pump operators how to identify root causes of pump failures and prevent them before they happen. You will learn about the types of pumps, pump concepts and the maintenance and installation of pumps as well as the selection of the correct pump types.
Course objectives
The overall objective of this course is to provide participants with a clear understanding of how to install pump sets correctly and maintain them in a cost effective manner. Artisans, Operators and those dealing and working with pumps on a daily basis will learn the dynamics of pumping and how to install and operate pump sets. In particular participants will develop a thorough understanding of the root causes of pump set failures and learn how to prevent failures as well as develop a maintenance programme to address these failures before they result in loss of reliability and availability.
